The apartment was first purchased by our grandfather, a distinguished figure in Italian ophthalmology originally from Tuscany. It was later gifted to our father, a respected professor of ophthalmology and chief surgeon at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital, who continued his private medical practice here with dedication and success.
Today, we have chosen to give this place a new life, transforming it into a welcoming space that celebrates our family’s history. The attention to detail, the pursuit of beauty and balance, and our deep love for Rome — a city unlike any other in the world — are the values we wish to share with our guests.
The eye symbol in our logo pays tribute to this legacy — a nod to our family’s professional heritage and to the attentive, refined perspective we wish to offer every visitor. The names of the rooms bear our initials: C for Carla and F for Francesco, husband and wife bound by fifty years of love and life together — our beloved “mamma e babbo” — and M, A, L for Marcello, Alberto, and Luisa, their three children.
Through this project, we hope that each guest may experience not just a stay, but a personal glimpse into the beauty, history, and soul of Rome — seen through an “eye” that appreciates its timeless charm.
